Enreisho Shiika 2 vols. complete Edited by Ueda Mitsuyoshi
[Japan] Scarce set of two volumes published 18 years apart. The first volume, published in 1839, contains poetry written by various Japanese personages. The 1857 second volume as well, but interestingly, also with two poetical letters written in Dutch dated 1845 by the chief trader (Opperhoofd) at Dejima from 1842-1845, Pieter Albert Bik (1798-1855). The letters were translated into Japanese by Narabayahi and Iwase, presumably rangaku scholars.
